Practitioners Course

Thank you for your interest in learning Spinal Touch.

Spinal Touch is a powerful and unique technique for assessing and treating postural distortion at the centre of gravity of the body. Gently applied to more than a hundred reflex points and muscle insertions, it both addresses mechanical imbalance and has a powerful healing effect on the energy field. As it does not involve the application of mechanical force it is pain-free for the client and strain-free for the practitioner. Graduates of our courses find that offering Spinal Touch to their clients transforms their work, often inducing favourable outcomes where all other treatments have failed. Our former trainees build thriving practices with Spinal Touch at the centre of their work.

Our courses are taught to small groups and offer a thorough training in Spinal Touch technique. They are validated by the Bio Mechanics Foundation, Utah, USA – the leading authority on Spinal Touch.  They have, in addition, been awarded accreditation by the Complementary Medical Association (CMA) and the Complementary Theapists Association( CThA)

Our training is open to qualified therapists and other healthcare professionals whose training has included the study of Anatomy & Physiology (A&P). N.B. If you do not fit this profile you may still come on our course if you can provide evidence that you are currently studying A&P when you start your training with us. In this case, you will be awarded certification if, within twelve months of finishing training in Spinal Touch, you successfully complete a training in: a) Anatomy & Physiology* or b) another form of therapy. If you are in the process of training in a therapy and this training includes A&P then completion of this study will of course be sufficient. If you have queries about any of these requirements then please phone us for advice. [*We can provide information about correspondence courses in A&P]

Therapists and healthcare professionals who successfully complete our training will be awarded Diplomas for the professional practice of Spinal Touch. They will be eligible for membership of the CMA and to the professional indemnity insurance cover which the CMA offers. Therapists who already have insurance cover should be able to extend it to cover Spinal Touch treatment (you may wish to check this with your insurer).

Lay people or those who care for people with particular problems can join the first 3 days of the course  and can upgrade later on, once they finish another therapy or a course of anatomy and physiology. The cost for this basic training is £350 which includes a manual and a footboard. In such cases their learning of the technique is for their own family only and they will not be certified to work professionally with Spinal Touch.

N.B. While certification entitles you to incorporate Spinal Touch into professional practice it is not a qualification to teach this technique to others. Before the course we will ask that you sign an agreement to the effect that you will not give instruction in Spinal Touch until/unless you are specifically qualified to do so.

You will find details about the cost of the training on the booking form Should you need to attend an additional 3-day module it will cost £330.00 – this price will also cover the cost of re-assessment when this is necessary. Course fees cover the cost of tea/coffee and biscuits which will be available at intervals during training sessions It also covers a vegetarian meal on the fourth day of the course.

The leaflet/booking form also shows the dates of upcoming courses; the first day of the course will start at 9.30 a.m. and finish at 5.00 p.m. Subsequent days will begin at 10.00 a.m. and finish at 5.00 p.m.

Our training attracts international interest and participants on the course are drawn from far and wide. They often emphasise how much they have enjoyed having the opportunity to train in this beautiful location high in DartmoorNational Park. Please contact us first to find out whether we have spaces in our class.

If you would like to attend please fill out both the application form and the booking form and return to our address with your deposit. Upon receipt of these forms with your deposit we will send you a letter of confirmation along with directions and  other details.

I look forward to hearing from you

with best wishes
