The Light Touch Therapy training consists of a five module diploma course in Spinal Touch treatment.

Spinal Touch can have a direct and beneficial effect on any patient regardless of what symptoms of ill health they may be exhibiting. It corrects postural distortion and realigns the body’s centre of gravity at the lower spine. Any physical stress or discomfort will affect this centre producing pain and lack of ease. A pattern of touch points covering the spine, abdomen, head and shoulders is gently relaxed so as to facilitate postural correction and pain-release. The treatment promotes a free flow of energy through muscles, bones and joints. It has a health-enhancing impact on internal organs and brings a sense of lightness and well-being. There are no contraindications to the treatment. As it is so gentle, it can safely be used on children, pregnant women as well as older people.

Spinal Touch has been developed by an american engineer, chiropractor and healer in the 1920’s John Hurley. He combined laws of leverage, physiology and acupuncture meridian touch points. His work would have been lost if it was not for the late Dr L Rosquist another chiropractor who introduced it again in 1960. Susanna Terry has been trained and qualified as a Spinal Touch instructor in 1998 ,by Dr Lamar Rosquist. To date she has trained more than 200 health professionals many of whom have built thriving health practices.

What Does Spinal Touch Do?

The intention of the treatment is to relax, release and regenerate the whole energy field. This can sometimes be felt by the patient as sensations of warmth, tingling or deep relaxation to the point of going to sleep. What You Will Learn in the 5 Module Light Touch Therapy Training

Module 1

You will discover the real cause of pain and disease and what steps you need to take to reverse it. Find out how stress affects our body’s posture as well as the optimum function of our internal organs.
Which are the stressors which we can avoid and which ones we have to correctly learn to live with.

Module 2

In this module you will learn how to assess your patients’ posture and any distortion they may have. You’ll discover a step-by-step method to customize a Light Spinal Touch treatment to the person’s particular needs.This will be a highly individualized ‘prescription’ which is going to follow when your client lies on the couch.

Module 3

You will now learn a different method to assess postural misalignment of non-ambulatory patients. That is for people who are in wheelchairs or due to their illness find it difficult to stand.

Module 4

In this module you will learn how to muscle test the reaction of your patient to the contact points you have found out are needed for correction during the treatment. You will use some kinesiology principles for this assessment.

Module 5

This is the module which teaches you the various steps to treating a patient with Light Spinal Touch.
You will also watch the video so that you can see how you will treat your own clients with this unique therapy. Finally you will re-assess your client’s posture after the treatment to find out how much the misalignment has been corrected and what else you need to do to make your treatment hold better.

Requirements for Joining The Course

The course is designed for existing therapists or people who have a basic anatomy and physiology knowledge. We can recommend a correspondence course one it if you don’t.
